Hi everybody,

some people were asking me for Korg M1-programs, I uploaded them and here are the links... hope you have fun with it, if you find something interesting let me know - I haven't tried all of them, they're too much :wink:

...this is a file I downloaded from the net, it contains the factory preset and some program and combination banks. I guess you can just load one of this files on your M1 at the same time, and it will overwrite all your files, so make a midi dump before!

...a .pdf-file with a list of the files and names in sounds_m1.zip

...that's the soundbank I currently use. I just use some of the programs in my synth-setup.

Big sorry, I haven't taken a look into this area for some time... ;-)

You have to connect your synth and your PC using a MIDI-cable (just one way, PC out to Synth in). Then you need a program to transfer the files, for exmaple MIDI-OX (Google-search).

You have to open the .syx-files (SysEx-files) and the porgram wil "play" it through the MIDI-cable. The synth will receive the files and WILL OVERWRITE ALL EXISTING FILES! So make sure you made a backup up important programs before you transfer the SysEx.

Take a look at the program and try it, if you have any question post it here, I'll now take a look into here every day :wink:

I've never seen an USB-MIDI-cable, so I don't know... usually you can use the game-port (for joysticks) at your sound-card. You can get a cable with a game-port connector at the one end and two MIDI-connectors (in/out) at the other end.

When you have started MIDI-OX first control the MIDI-settings (options > midi-devices) and activate your outputs and inputs (I don't know how it looks if you use the gameport, I have a midi-interface).

Now connect PC and synth. Then there's a set of three buttons under "file" in the normal program-windows:

:: to save your data:

klick the right one to open the SysEx-window. Then go to SysEx > Receive Manual Dump. Now there's a window to show the received data. Now you have to go to your M1, select "global" and send a MIDI-DATA-DUMP (on of the last pages, select ALL and then DUMP). Now if everything's working you should see the receive-window counting up.

When your M1 says "completed" you can save the file by "Display Window" > "Save As" and you get a SysEx-file containing all your data from your M1.

:: to bring new data to your M1

klick at the bottom in the middle, select the SysEx-file you want to send and wait till the load is completed. Now you should have new sounds on your M1.
