Alright guys, I have a very basic question. I've been playing piano/keyboard for a few years now, and decided that I'd like to look into buying a pedal. I'm new to this whole electronic keyboard deal, so any basic help would be appreciated.

Basically, I want a pedal, I have an Alesis QS8 blah blah blah, what types of pedals are compatabile with this board, and what exactly does an expression pedal for a keyboard do? And whats the deal with these pedals that can be set up to shift programs and sounds?

Thanks - Jordan (yes, yet another one)

Well an expression pedal can control continous midi data like volume, it looks like a guitarist wahwah or volume pedal and you can assign different midi controllers to it, say for controlling your keyboards fx levels or volume etc. If you check the Alesis website, they have just bought out a pedalboard for guitar and keyboards, its has patch selectors up/down and a continuous control pedal. It looks pretty cool and I'm gonna get one for my keyboard when its released.
