Is the lead sound used mostly by Derek Sherinian on his Triton. Is a distorted lead sound with a wah-wah effect.

Hi there...
If I am not mistaking, the Monster Lead is also a factory patch in KORG Trinity/Triton (Trinity B79 at least in my trinity) .
OK now this factory patch can be also tweeked to your liking in order to get the bes fat and Wah! Wizzy ! sound. (that also if you have a KORG)
The Wah effect is triggered by the Joystick down... but actually you can use an expression pedal to control it in order to have more control. and also you can lock the wah to 1/4 or 1/2 way by using the SW2 and then you can use it for some Stiiiivie Vai_like sound... the trick is to click the name....then use the left slider all the way up and take the master fx all the way up also (+10).... to give it this kind of a delay reverb drawned effect... and you can play "for the love of god"....

Enjoy it

Monster Lead is a factory patch name originally created on the O1/W keyboards which made its way into the Trinity line of synths. Derek's main lead sound with DT when he first joined was basically this factory preset which Derek had tweaked to taste. That's where the Monster lead name came from as I used to own an O1/W Pro X for a long time and used to use this factory preset a lot and I also used the Trinity version when I used to own a TR-Rack. Derek basically slapped the wah effect on top of this preset also. I think Derek also used to use this patch from his O1/W rack I'm sure I read once in a keyboard mag interview.....when his rig consisted of oberheim Eclipse and Oberheim analog rack, JD990,O1/W racks etc when he first joined DT, I loved his rig then...
