I'm looking into keyboards right now, so could someone please tell me whether these sounds are all from the Motif itself? Or are some real instruments dubbed over it?

It sounds amazing in my opinion!

Thanks for any replies.

Yeah....Those are all "MOTIF ES" sounds !!!!!!

I have a MOTIF ES8 & I've to say that it's an amazing keyboard......

With amazing & realistic sounds !!!!

BEST BUY 2003-04 in my opinion !

i have to say i also wasn't overly impressed with the motif (any of them). it was okay...but i didn't hear anything too incredibly different or better than my triton classic. and the user interface is not as good. although i did sorta like the weighted keys better than the triton proX...but the triton studio has similar weighted keys if you get the 88 key version

i was thinking...and really...i mean, the motif, the fantom, the triton and the k2*00 series are all REALLY good keyboards, and i don't think (if you're considering buying one) that you'll really be disappointed with ANY of them. unless you're a SUPER serious player or are building a studio and have *specific* requirements or whatever, they should all satisfy you as a keyboardist.

so don't think i mean to say that the motif is a crappy board, cuz it definitely is not. i'm just comparing it to my triton...and i've been using that for like almost 4 years now...so i'm pretty comfortable with it and used it. if i was just buying a workstation synth now...i might go with something else...who knows? try them all out

Hey I appreciate your response. It gives me some things to think about. I guess one of the reasons I was so impressed by it was because I thought it sounded fantastic for something that was like $1000 cheaper than the Triton Studio. I can survive without having an onboard harddrive/CD-RW since I would just use my computer anyways.

I am a picky person when it comes to sound, but I am not yet at the point where I have the time or money to create my own studio!

why not?

It's so... cliché! I mean, the sounds sound good, but nothing new! It feels like it exists 5 years or so!
