Hey guys,
I have already posted something about this before, but I am really at a loss and need some help... There are somewhere between 50-100 sounds on my Kurz that I loaded that are distorted and just sounds like crap. Almost like they were corrupt files or something... I have no idea. (the loaded sounds are part of the ROM expansion thing..) Everything else sounds incredible. Someone mentioned before that it could be a memory problem.. but i don't know how to go about getting the right memory and how to replace it or whatever.. anyways, I would appreciate any help. Thanks alot!

a few things you could do - Try removing your P-ram and re-inserting it. Possible it's simply a seating problem. I'm also assuming that you've done a hard-reset as well?
What about making your own sounds or the sounds from the internet? Are those corrupted when you load them and restart your machine? It sounds like it could be the memory - Where the memory allocates the sounds from 50-100 (memory address 00000A1C - 00003A1C or something like that) could be corrupted or seated incorrectly and could be causing the error.
Another thing to try is this: get a file that has a butt load of programs on it. I'd recomment the Detrazor sounds. Do a hard reset and LOAD up the kurzweil with the sounds, or even just sounds you're farmiliar with over and over *using the fill on the load screen, always load into the 200's bank and when you fill it'll continue where it left off) Anyway, what this does is attempts to use most of the P-ram memory to see if there IS an error, you'll know what program numbers it happens in.
If you've done a hard reset, loaded the sounds, tried different OS versions *you have KDFX?? - Could possibly be something there too?* If you DON'T have KDFX try OS 3.00 or 3.01. The current is 3.02 and it's NEVER given me any problems.
Anyway, keep us informed. It DOES sound like a memory problem. The Guys over at Sonikmatter know their stuff, and that's assuming you've been there already too.

Good luck!
