I'd like to learn a piano concerto, but I don't feel like attacking the Rach3 yet, so I was wondering what would be a nice sounding, challenging but not too difficult piano concerto that I could start to learn.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Most of the Mozart piano concertos are towards the lower end of the difficulty spectrum. Bach d-minor would be a good choice too. I don't know of any romantic or modern concertos that are easy; you're kind of restricted to classical and baroque.

Is'nt there a list of oxymorons somewhere with this thread title in it? :D

Yeah I know piano concerto are usually not easy at all, that's why I'd like to find one that is not too hard.

And personally I wouldn't say that Mozart concertos are generally easy. I haven't listen to the 25 or something like that he made, but I heard some of his last ones and I wouldn't say that they are easy unless I was a virtuoso.

Any other advice?

Grieg a-moll,bach f-moll,mocart (maybe N23?) ... id recommend Grieg

I don't think the Grieg could be classified as an "easy" concerto. It's basically a show piece, and thus requires a good bit of technique. Bach would be good. You also might look into Haydn's concertos.

Hey isn't that Grieg concerto the one that Jordan plays in the ad he made when he was younger? At least the beginning of the ad if my memory is good.
