That was wonderful! thanks for sharing.

My only *minor* qualm is that its a female singing when the lyrics are storytelling from the point of view of a male. No big deal, just pointing it out.

Unfortunately this section of the forum doesnt get as much attention as it should :( More people should see this. It was really beautiful.

In order to draw some attention on the section show off! I'll put this thread in the general chat for 1 day.

And remember, this is in order to make people aware we have a section called show off! ;)

My only *minor* qualm is that its a female singing when the lyrics are storytelling from the point of view of a male. I don't think that there's anyting specifically male about the perspective of the lyrics.

Other than that, I agree with Gaz. Absolutely beautiful; my favorite version of that song has always been the FII tour live arrangement (documented on OiaL), and this reproduced the most important parts of that.

wow that's a really great piano arrangement with the perfect amount of strings to thicken out the sound...and really great voice! i like that she brings a bit of her own performance to it while still keeping the feel of the original...that's always the mark of a good singer when it comes to covering other ppl's material

really nice sounding...my one critique would be the mix--the vocals sat a bit high for me...but that's minor--great performances!

I don't think that there's anyting specifically male about the perspective of the lyrics.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that JP mentioned the lyrics were from the perspective of a man who ''made a terrible mistake in his life and could not get his family to forgive him.''

Something like that.

I had a look for the interview but i cant find anything...

Very nice piano arrangement Jeroen.
I agree the vocals are very good. She has good articulation as well.

And what's good for the constitutional goose must surely be good for the lyrical gander. ;)

I mean, people play "One" by U2 at weddings, and doing so require them to completely ignore virtually every lyric except the chorus. What i mean when I say that the HY lyrics aren't specifically male is, there is nothing that specifically articulates the gender of the protagonist.

I just had occaision to listen to the MP3 again, and I don't think I emphasized enough in my previous comment just how fantastic the singing is. The piano work is mavellous, too, but her voice in the final bridge (right after the solo) is amazing.
