Hi folks,
i'm proud to inform you that our third Lead Sculpting issue, written by Fab (Alucard), is now online for your fun and profit :)
This time we have covered tipical Wah-Lead Derek Sherinian style with parameters for Korg Triton/Karma series and suggestions for other keyboards.
Check it out at www.progsounds.com message board, under Articles -> English section.

Now all I need is a keyboard that can actually do that ;)

You need to be a registered user in order to view those artciles. There are a section called Articles, with two subforums named English and Italian.

Hey,Axiom,i've got a question..in the tutorial you mention making another layer for feedback (aftertouch).does that mean we're making a combi with 2 programs? please explain..i've got a triton extreme. thanks a lot, these tutorials are really helping me witg my new synth :)

Yes, since you can only use two voices in a program setted double. With those programs you have to make a combi :)

mmm theorically yes... but is not mandatory to have same effects. As example, the wah doesn't affect the feedback even if this effect is there. Listen to my "monthly jam" entry as example for this sound.

wow,thanks for the quick reply!
im still having problems with the 2nd layer.i selected a new program with a single oscillator called up ROM 278 Sine (is that right?) and set it up an octave higher.the thing i cant get is the amp setup.if i set the amp level to 0 i dont hear anything when i use aftertouch (the intensity of Amp mod is set to +99 and is controlled with aftertouch)...?? im a bit stuck...thanks for spending time and helping me!

mmm weird. try to change control source from aftertouch to ModWheel. I usually use mwheel to test control parameters. If it works with mwheel it have to do the same even with aftertouch...

the thing is,when i set the amp level to something bigger,i do hear the difference when using aftertouch.there is a volume increases if i use it.but when i set amp level to 0 there's no sound so i dont hear any volume increase...

i've gave a look to the manual. You can also try with a different trick to control the volume of a sine wave: using a lowpass. Set a lowpass to its lowest value and control its cutoff via aftertouch. Since the sine have only fundamental and no harmonics, the lowpass act as gain control in this case :)

p.s.:
did you read my private message?

Hey Axiom nice sound! Pretty similar to Derek Sherinian's. Sometimes I wish I had a more powerful synth
