Hey guys, Does any of you experience a "clicking" and tightness in one side of your jaw hinge point after using in ear monitors? I hope it goes away cuz I love wearing them.

Hmm,
Are you sure it's not just coincidence ?
My jaw clicked before I had my wisdom teeth out.
Hasn't been a problem since. May want to consult your dentist.
I can't imagine that ear monitor would impact jaw muscle, but hey, I'm no doctor.

Hah! They do :D

About that jaw clicking, it has happened to me after using regular in-earphones...

The clicking (or popping, or snapping) and pain you experience could be from your jaw joint, or could be due to unequalized pressure in your inner ear. Both are potentially serious problems that should be investigated by a doctor. It seems less likely that ear inserts could cause a jaw misalignment, but it certainly seems possible.

In any case, don't just let it go, get it checked out - mandibular joint problems can make you completely miserable, and ear pressure problems can make you deaf.

Could be a sign of TMJ (lockjaw). I have symptoms of this as well. Doctors thought removing my wisdom teeth would fix it, but it didn't. Luckily it has never gotten serious. I have a friend who actually went through a surgery procedure to fix this.

I recommend getting it checked out at least before it gets serious.

Thanks guys. I played out last night using the in-ears with the band and not experiencing any jaw clicking today. I used one ear in, one out so that I could hear the room too. Maybe just coincidence or maybe from wearing "hands free" ear bud in my right ear for my cell phone.
