Hi guys,
I'm proud to inform you all that we are working hard for a new series of articles here on ProgSounds. Here follows a short list of what you're waiting for:
- Lead Sculpting: Monster Lead and JR Liquid Lead
- Behind the Knob: a new series of articles focusing on synth technique with tricks and experimentations.
- Famous Sounds: another series of articles focusing on most wanted and popular sounds such as particular Hammond settings, Edgar Winter's Frankenstein sound and so on.
Other things are in planning so... stay tuned.
Musically,
Luca Capozzi

Are you talking about the wacked out, staticy sound in Frankenstein, or the lead itself? My Ion nails the weird sound, but I don't have a clue how to get the early monster lead.

I hope to explain such things in a manner that almost all synthesizer can do the job. My thought is that if you know how it works, you can replicate it.. no matter what you use.. well, with some exception :P I don't think that someone can replicate a 12 layer patch with a PSR..
Btw, there are sounds that can be achived on almost all synths... even this one (http://www.lucacapozzi.net/files/lpfhammond.mp3) :P

So true, Axiom.
Nice organ sound. How did you get the part with less attack near the end? Layering? splitting the keyboard? through a real-time control?

Hi folks,
We are preparing our new article series called Famous Sounds which include most wanted and popular non-lead sounds. If you have some requests, suggestions and so on please let us know replying to this thread.
If you have a specific sound on a specific song please reply as follows:
- Band/Author - Album - Song name - time when the sound appears-
Thank you,
Luca
p.s. x everlasting rain:
no layering or split ;) is all made in additive. stay tuned because our first Behind the Knob article is focused on Hammonds.
