:0 I'll say. Metallica at #1? Beatles at #39? And there are quite a few near the end that I thought for sure would have been higher.

Which list are you looking at? The one in the link I saw had the Beatles cleary in #1 basically tied with Elvis and Metallica towards the bottom of the top 50 or so.
There were definitely some omissions to that list, such as YES, who if freakin Jethro Tull (who never seemed very popular) has 60m sales, Yes would probably be closer to 80m at least (with Genesis at 160m or so, I imagine Yes is somewhere inbetween).
Also, Miles Davis was not on there, and Im sure he in the top 100 or so.
And I bet Will Smith is somewhere in the 30-40m range if not higher, because he's been around forever and his stuff seems to be pretty popular.

Ok, that's weird. I should have taken a screenshot. Last night the chart was different. Perhaps something got corrupted out in computer land and displayed the table in an incorrect order?

That page is highly inaccurate.
I believe Van Halen is actually a lot higher than they have em here to...
