Hi all,
I spend most of the days trying to find the melodies I need to express feelings...I'm aiming for something like a Demo-EP for a friend of mine's birthday...so all the songs I'll write in these two months before 25th march would be dedicated to her.
Now, I'm actually trying to write something like this:
-RMP-ish song, lots of Hammond, backing analog strings/super detuned and a "LTE"-Lead (ok on a Triton Le (not even mention my Alesis QS 6.1 because it sucks for leads :E) it won't sound even a half of the original...but I like it :D). I have already written down some ideas.
-Something like a moonlight-ish song with much mystery and classical passages...yet to be defined.
-A Planet-X style song with rich synth effects...yet to be defined.
By now, the hard is writing drums and bass with no experience on them and with Reason, Cubase SX and Sonar (I have a lot of software). After laying some bass lines and rythm I know something will come out...
-Who knows? :D
-An Enya-style song that's the purpose of this topic.
I went in this style with "Watermark" when I was still taking private lessons (my teacher was a great fan of her and agreed to teach to me how to play it), now I'm feeling a bit influenced when writing down slow songs...I came up now with this arpeggio in Eb then Cm, then goes in Bb then back...but I want to expand this progression and make something like more "complex", more articulated, deeper than what sounds to me a flat idea...or maybe I'm just a bit depressed so I lay my mood on flat composing.
I'm going to layer choir and synth strings together with some bells to add thickness to the final sound of the song.

So, basically, I ask you to share with me your composing experience to learn how to build 5-6 chord progressions...I'm a bit young and unaware of much things I should know, like complex scales, scale changing...
I feel so little talented when I hear you guys around improvising and composing in such a few efforts!
Thanks for the help, and please reply, because time keeps passing by (as night turns into day :D) and I feel this will be the greatest present I can do to her.
