This storm is crazy! We start to feel the mere side effects here in Quebec and its raining like hell! It must be very hard for people who were in the middle of the storm and who lost everything... My thoughts are always with them these days. Its probably still unbelievable for them, but they will recover. It will take time, but they will recover. At least those who are alive can thank God to still be here.
I just wanted to give positive thoughts to people who were affected by this bitch. Rock on people!

This is a truly horrible disaster, the destruction is unbelievable. And we haven't even BEGUN to feel the repercussions of this storm.
Well, I began to feel it at the gas pump today...

Tell that to me man, I was here @ Miami when the storm came, but the storm passed as cat. 1. But that's true that was a wicked storm.
I feel very sorry for the people @ New Orleans.

I remember the only thing that I thought when they were predicted it would hit New Orleans was "Oh shit." That's the absolute worst place that a hurricane could hit because of the topgraphy there, and it just had to wind up as a category 5. It truly is horrible that this happened...one of the worst possible storm scenarios that I can think of.

I thought: "Oh shit, the Mardi Grass is over". And like you said man, the topography doesn't help.

There are a number of people on various forums I visit that have been affected, to lose everything and have to start over is truly awful

I felt sad for a member on the Mike Portnoy's forum, in a thread he said: "for tomorrow morning all my stuff is going to be underwater".

My wife may be deployed for 2 weeks (Public Health Service) to help down there. Which means I'll be taking care of the kids...alone (insert scary sound effects here).

It's all very tragic and devastating. Hopefully we'll all get an opporunity to put our talents to work in hopes of raising money in benefit performances. I have one already scheduled for Sept 11 at the Boxcar in Southport, CT.
If you're in the NY/CT area come on down and help us raise some money.
