I'm usually verrrrrrrry sceptical when it comes to
announcements like this and of the "I'll believe it when
I hear it" train of thought (no pun intended) but I visited
the Synthogy booth last week and found what possibly
could be the Holy Grail of piano samples.

I know that there is a huge consensus of people here
who place a great deal of importance on the piano
sound as the centerpiece of their recordings or even
as their main instrument and have even presented
questions in this forum as to what the best piano sample
currently available is. Without a doubt, here it is.

I want a copy right now so bad it hurts.

yeah, it sounds amazing, but i would like to hear it...although maybe a sound sample wouldn't do it justice...how come jordan didn't give a copy to everyone on the forum as a christmas gift? i think that would have been reasonable... haha

Apparently a couple of ex-Kurz guys were responsible
for its creation. I'm telling you, through high quality
monitors phones this thing is the best one out there
bar none.

Be patient for only a few more years and physical modeling algorithms will be able to do the same with DSP power and far less memory demands. That's where my hopes are: physical modeling. Powerful, expressive, editable, flexible, etc.

Yes I agree that one day modeling will be perfected, however,
I think we're just about where we want to be with Ivory.
I, mean, you gotta hear it to believe it for yourself.

Chuck Surack, CEO of Sweetwater Sound, was one of the guys
at last weekend's NAMM show dragging people over to the Synthogy
booth saying "You have to hear Ivory. It's incredible!"

I'm not surprised at the quality considering a couple of Kurz
sound designers, Joe Ierardi and George Taylor, were responsible
for its creation.
