Ultimate DT Song: The Great Debate vs Particle E Motion

My friend is running a poll at his DT fansite (www.crookedstep.com) and I'm helping out by posting a thread about it at all of the major Dream Theater forums. Basically, it's going to be pitting two songs against each other every two days until only one song remains the winner. Some of the polls may seem a bit one sided, but that's because it's semi random.

We all know these polls ALWAYS end up being between metropolis and pull me under. Whats the fun in that?

Why are the matchups so unfair/one-sided?
*sigh* While it may seem like a bad idea to pit A Change of Seasons against Your Majesty or Pull Me Under against VItal Star, if you stop and use the brain you were born with for a few minutes, you'll see it makes perfect sense. If I was to matchup the stronger songs against each other and the weaker songs against each other that would mean that a LOT of the stronger songs will not make it to the 2nd round, and a lot of the weaker songs WILL make it to the 2nd round. so then the stronger and weaker songs will be pitted against each other in the 2nd round! That would mean that the polls will get less exciting as we go along instead of more exciting.

Tell me, what defines a stronger or a weaker song?
I have this funny feeling it might have something to do with opinion.

Your whole poll is biased in the way of popularity equalling what is good. There is only one outcome. Therefore it really is pointless.

I probably wouldnt have said any of this and let you had your fun, except for the grade school ''we are better than anyone else'' attitude displayed in the FAQ.
