Good media player for Mac?

Ok, on windows I use Zoom Player, however, it unfortunately is not available for mac. So from what I've seen so far, VLC Media Player seems to be the best available for mac... does anyone have experience that says otherwise?

i use the Mac and have found that iTunes is excellent for mp3s and CDs, and Real Player is very good for video files. Both programs are free.

BTW - I'm on OSX. I don't think iTunes is available for OS9 or earlier.

the vlc isn't bad at all.

but also check out the mplayer (http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/)
