PULL ME UNDER / METROPOLIS

That was the setlist for a great evening. I think I crapped my pants when Glass Prison started. You have all read reviews about previous shows from this tour so far, I'm not going to go into the opening acts at all and I didn't stay for Megadeth cause I had to get home and bring my friends home too, however - Dream Theater's sound has reached it's peak. Labrie is note perfect, everyone is fantastic, and there is just so much energy. I was lucky to get to practically the front of the stage tonight with my friends and it was just such a relentless driving set, it made me feel so happy being there, I'm glad that this ended my summer vacation before going back to Eastman.

The continuum is a beast and Just Let Me Breathe was just amazing live. I can't wait for the North American headlining tours because if this is what they sound like for 90 minutes, I couldn't imagine a 3 hour set. Dream Theater has continued to push its live performance limits and now with James hitting all the high notes and singing so well and clearly in concert, they've even gone one step further.

Congratulations Dream Theater for an amazing set.

man, that is quite a nice setlist you had. the one we had on 8/8/05 (interesting date eh? was hoping theyd suprise us with octavarium, but was still a rockin show) in tampa, fl was awesome, and kinda close to what yours was.

they opened with this, and me too. my pants were full of crap. it was awesome.

and i couldnt agree with you more, james labrie's voice sounds so good live now. they played under a glass moon, and i swear, he sounded perfect! hit the insane high notes just like he used to. i thought i was watching the tokyo dvd again, only better.

a lot of very exciting JR moments i might add. he was a beast with that continuum. he had this great stage presence at this show i saw, reserved, yet powerful. and when he solo'd it was awesome. he got such a strong reaction i thought from all the metal heads there. made me happy.

I'm glad that this ended my summer vacation

yeah man, seeing them in concert was deffinately THE highlight of my summer vacation, and an awesome way to end it. (especially with the end of metropolis pt 1!!!!)

i havent seen DT in a few years, didnt get to see them on their ToT tour, and last time i saw them was on the escape from the studio summer tour a while back. but one thing i noticed more, dont know how long it's been like this, but the lighting effects were VERY cool! some parts where it was either a unison between petrucci and rudess, or a call/respond section between them, the yellow spotlights would beam on them during their part. it had an awesome effect with the music...nice job to whoever does that...lol ;)

Yeah, it was just such a good show, I mean sound quality and energy wise it was really enjoyable. Some nut went crowd surfing and hit me in the back of the head but that was the only rough moment...oh and some guy got dragged out screaming and throwing punches and of course I got hit in the arm...go figure...but asides from that, really nice crowd compared to the way they were for the previous bands. I got worried at first cause people started rushing the stage and I told myself that maybe it wasn't that wise in the first place to have gotten SO close to the stage, but after root of all evil, people calmed down and just enjoyed it without feeling the need to try and thrash or mosh or anything.
