Anyone else going to the show this sunday in poughkipsee, NY ?

No, but I'm thinkin about going to see them (DT) at Reading PA Soverign Center. My only reservation is though that I have ZERO interest in all the OTHER bands. I'll probably go anyway though, just wish DT was the headliner so that I could get a nice big dose of the best Prog on this planet.

Symphony X have incredible music and they easily put on the best performance of the entire bunch when I went. I would say that they are worth it just as much as DT, and I think the whole tour would be about 20 times better if they had a main stage slot and Fear Factory got bumped to second stage. Nevermore were also impressive when I saw them. Got their new album recently because of the impact they made there.


I wasn't even that excited about anybody but SX going into the show (already seen DT before, so it wasn't that first-time anticipation), but I honestly think that was the funnest night of my life. Open up a little bit and try to appreciate what some of the other bands have to offer. :) If nothing else, you aren't obligated to watch all of them...I skipped all the second stage bands besides Symphony X. I think that between them, Megadeth, and Nevermore, there's a lot of real quality music there along with Dream Theater. It's not their tour, so you shouldn't expect it to be like that. It's a collection of various metal groups that cover a good amount of sub-genres, and a real good festival concert.

Then again, if that's not your thing, that's just not your thing I guess. Don't knock it till you've tried it though. :)

I'll go and keep an open mind. I didnt know SX was gonna be there. Id like to check them out. Is that Tony Mac's group?

Forgive me for my ignorance. I was way into Yngwie for the past 10 years and not much else. Speaking of yingyang one string, anybody know where I can get a FRESH USA tour update for him? Ive been tryin his official fanclub site for the past month and nothing. He was in England last time I seen. I just dont want to miss him this year.
