Does anyone own the Korg BX-3 or the stunning looking CX-3?
What are your impressions?

Frank,
Have you checked out this guy yet?
It looks nice and the old VK had some good sounds on it as well.

LOL! I got to hear the CX-3 recently and am impressed by its realistic tones. I liked even more than the Hammond XB-2. It seemed to have more bite than either the Hammond and the Roland VK. I have KB3 on my Kurz but am exploring.

I have Nord Electro 2 and I love it.
Much better because no real drawbars are used (only leds and switches which may seem stupid but go and demo one and you'll how good it is...WYSIWYG) :)
Also, Electro has some great e. piano sounds.
A bit pricy though :?

Hey,
That's what Sherinian played when I saw him with PX. Sounded pretty authentic. Any real sounding pianos?

Yes, Derek has lots of Clavia gear.
There are 2 acoustic grands (Steinway mono and Malmsjo stereo but you can choose the miking point so there are variations).
They are good but I wouldn't quite use it for the acoustic grand piano parts (it's more of a bonus, the real thing are epianos).
On the other hand, electric pianos are excellent, and clavinet is totally amazing...and if you put the autowah :) ).

If I had some money I would certainly buy a Nord Lead to fill my setup :D
Since I don't have any analog synth... yet

Not painted, but he put some red tape on it. I guess he likes red. :D

I've used the BX3 and CX3, and they sound outstanding. Some of the Motif organs sound pretty good too, but lately my favorite is the Native Instruments B4 Tonewheel (http://www.nativeinstruments.de/index.php?b4_us) software synth. There are some -great- B3 tones in it.
I've got a little demo song with the B4 on it. Feel free to check it out (http://exit3.i-55.com/~tigerfolly/media/TRO%20082403%20VBR.mp3).

I get tons of spam email everyday that say that they can help you out with this "little" problem....
Oh, you meant the Hammond?

I've used both CX3 (old one) and VK7, but to me they only start to live when using a real Leslie.
Both great instruments though.
