Are there any special wah wah pedals for synthesizers.. you can use guitar pedals, but are there any better?

you can achive wah effect using a resonant bandpass filter and assing a controller to its cutoff. anyway, any guitar wah pedal is suitable for this mission ;)

One piece of advice that might be helpful is to seek out a wah pedal that has an adjustable frequency range, which will help you tailor the wah sound to whatever patch you might be using (ie you could select a lower range for a bass patch or vice versa). Something like a Cry Baby 535Q. But not the Cry Baby, because they tend to be very "on or off" without much of a smooth sweep like a Vox or Morley would have. I think Morley probably has 1 or more models that have this feature, they would probably be good for your purposes. Personally, I use a standard Vox, which I typically use on guitar, but also sometimes use on my Rhodes. It's perfect for that early Return To Forever/Weather Report sound, especially when I put it through this old Fender tube amp with 4 10" speakers.
