I just got the "un-released" version of XV-Edit Pro (www.soundtower.com) for my XV88 and it has a really cool new feature.

Patch Genetics - This is so cool, select two Patches (Mommy and Daddy) then apply one of the following parameters; Mix, Morph, Mutate, Random. When applied these results are 128 patches 1 being the Mother and 128 being the Father the rest are the mix between them. The app uses 947 various parameters to apply the transformations you can exclude any of these parameters in your processing.

Thats a basic explination

I messed around with this for a short while last night, some of the cool stuff I came up with was morphing Strings with a Lead tone. I ended up with a cool vintage sounding lead tone. There just wasnt enought time to mess around with this.

Kinda reminds me a little of P-farm. Really neat stuff.
