Gig in Greece

I' m very excited about it so I decided to write some things. It was awesome!! http://www.jordanrudess.com/forum/images/smilies/cool.gif I can't really think of the setlist (I think it was much like the one from the Budapest show, but not exactly the same)right now as I keep thinking of the members performance and the crowd shouting. Jordan was, as expected, great though I thought something was wrong with the Oasys in the begining but it was fixed later on. The use of Continium in older DT songs was absolutely amazing - would like to see him use it or/and his lapsteel more though. MP wouldn't stop banging his head, JP was surprised with his fans(I think)- a friend of mine took one of his plectrums. JM and JLB liked the audience also (I believe again). Jordan I hope you saw me (I think you did though) I was the guy on the right of the stage, third or fourth row, watching you persistenly, singing, banging his head, playing some air keys and showing you near the end of the show. BTW, I loved the thing with the wig at the begining of the show. At first I didn't realize it was you. "OMG his hair grew so fast??"... http://www.jordanrudess.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I thought the audience was really hot and hoped you liked it and will come in your next tour also as LaBrie said. Everyone' s waiting for you ...

OK So i saw well the man with the hat...

Oh, about the wig: At the begining, Jordan came in with a wig with black and white long hair.... So funny http://www.jordanrudess.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif After the first song MP threw it to us. I wasn't lucky enough to catch it. Unfortunately I don't think we have any photos of it because it was so unexpected and right at the begining...

I suppose you are refering to the Athens gig. I was at the Salonica one and it was damn great. By far the best gig of my life. It's the first time I 've seen dream theater live and during the gig I had a big smile all over my face (I couldn't keep that while I was jumping and banging my head though ;-) ). I was second - third row too. Great to see the band in such a small distance ;-). Great night. Both weather-wise (LaBrie also stated that) and musically. Jordan was amazing too ;) Great fun with the cartoon tune and I loved the piano solo (generally I really liked all of Jordan's performance - petrucci was a bit stable on the scene, which was really small, but who cares ;) -) and the Jordan - Petrucci duet. First time to see and hear a continuum also ;-) First time to see the rotating stand and an Oasys too. Stunned! And the first time to watch this (ultra-)great keyboardist perform. I'd like to say a big - big thank you to the band for giving us nearly 3 hours of pleasure ;) A bit dissapointed of the setlist though because they didn't play much of the lighter stuff and DoE but who cares anyway! You can't have it all (but you can "want it all" heheh ;-))! Such a perfect night! Thank you Jordan!

P.S.2: There are a lot of stuff that I liked (and a few that I disliked especially according the organization) and would like to share, but nobody gives a cent for 'em so skipped they were.
P.S.3: M.Portnoy was wearing a National Greek soccer team T-Shirt until the break. Oooolllee for that !!

Yes, I' mtalking about the Athens gig. My first DT gig also... Our scene wasn't big either, but no problem with that. My only complain is that they started more than one hour after the stated 9.00 pm.

BTW Portnoy was wearing the same shirt here(till the end)

One more thing: petrucci and jordan looked each other laughing many times- I think it was for us...

As far as pics of the wig and its final appearance at a DT show (seeing as it was thrown into the crowd at the end of As I Am), you'll all be happy to know that I recorded the whole thing on my little camcorder, including the final toss into the crowd.

Also, sadly yes, I have cut my hair. I know, I know, that didn't last very long... I woke up in Padova with all these horrible tangles and knots in my hair, and after about half an hour of fighting with it and tearing my hair out of my head with a comb, I just freaked out and cut it all off. Like, ALL of it. In fact, there's a picture floating around somewhere of a Bald Bert hovering over about 4 inches of full-head hair, all of which was cut off my head the very same morning.

I know, those of you with long hair probably think I'm a wimp, but those of us with short hair know the truth: I saw the light after a few months in darkness. ;)

Tomorrow, we ROCK ISTANBUL until its BRAIN MELTS.

Then we get to go back home. Yay!
