After listening to Octavarium a question keeps crying in my brain: will there be a third episode of Liquid Tension Experiment? I mean, Octavarium is great, don't get me wrong, but the instrumental LTE's songs are way better, both as technique and musical feelings.

I know this will possibly start a flame, but this is not my intention. I'd simply love to hear another wonderful prog-rock album, because DT sound more metal to me.

Common question... Simple answer... NO.

As MP stated. No point in another LTE if Jordan is part of DT.

The whole point was for it to be a MP side project. With different musicians.

Today it would be like excluding Myung only... And James of course... But then again, he sits out on the intrumentals nway. ;)

I was afraid it was something like this. Anyway, I still get wonderful feelings when I hear to When the Water Breaks or State of Grace, though I know them in every single bar. This doesn't happen with Dt. Not to criticise or anything, it's just a personal opinion. :)

Hum.. It would be great, but Dream Theater IS Liquid tension Experiment... Thats not the same music, but almost the same musicians! It would be bad to only exclude John Myung to do another album!

I've noted before that post-JR, DT sounds almost as though DT split up after FII, and JM/JLB joined LTE, because the song structures used by DT since then have been so reminiscent of LTE, and so little connected to earlier DT style.

There is also the small problem of Magna Carta and I do not suppose that Mike would want to open that can of worms again

Urk. Roger that one, TFG...
It would be possible to release under a different label though, wouldnt it?

I don't know what contract the boys have

But if there was half a chance that MC could cause trouble, MP would probably not want even to contemplate it

Besides, the main reason is that 3/4 are in DT

This was just a supplementary reason
