Made the classic noob mistake and reading some posts and replying, without even introducing myself first
I am thefunkygibbons (TFG) everywhere I post (Including ebay, so don't bid against me )
TFG is a 37 Chartered Accountant from the UK. I am married to Mrs Funky, and have 5 kids, whose details I don't post online. They are Little Funky (following his dad's footsteps by trying to learn guitar, in fact, I have given him the guitar and I have moved onto Bass) Little Funkette 1 (plays Clarinet like Mrs Funky), Little Funkette 2 (Handy flute player, so well pleased when I bought Rhonda Larson's Free as a Bird) Little Funkette 3 (tries the violin but is making slow progress) and Little Funkette 4 (my fearless drummer).
As you can imagine I don't get out much and there were a lot of barren years where I did not go to concerts. These days I save my brownie points so that I can get to DT concerts.
I was introduced to prog at a young age and over the years have listened to a wide range of music, but these days I have narrowed it down to a small list. In some sort of order
1. Dream Theater and side projects, especially TA
2. Neal Morse
3. Opeth
4. Porcupine Tree
5. Pain of Salvation
I guess I am now more into Progressive Metal rather than Prog Rock.
I have a bit of a reputation as a sad DT collector (although I comfort myself with the fact that I am not the worse ). My collection is no where near complete, but it is extensive and contains some quite expensive rarities. I am always happy to help with questions like "What is this?" or "How much is this worth?"
I am a big time poster over at www.mikeportnoy.com , but I am not interested in board wars, and I recognise some names from there and from www.voicesuk.net , the Official UK Dream Theater Fan Club.
(TFG waves to Micheal, owner of another Portnoy for Strength tee-shirt).
I apologise in advance for my dry sense of humour.
