Just read this from the JLB forum:

"Check the samples and press release!

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 28 June 2005 – Born March 13, 1982 in Israel, Daniel J has exploded onto the music scene as a multitalented musician, producer, singer, songwriter, guitarist, drummer, and bass player.

The son of Jaroslav Jakubovic, a professional musician, Daniel has been surrounded by, and intrigued with music his entire life. While growing up, he spent a lot of time in various recording studios and backstage at live concerts. He took guitar lessons at age 10 and also studied music theory with his father. Daniel's early influences included Metallica, Dream Theater, and YES.

At the age of 15 Daniel arranged, produced and played keyboard, bass, guitar and drums on his father's solo saxophone album of famous commercials tunes, which was a great success.

Upon his arrival in New York, Daniel was fortunate to meet one of his musical heroes, Jordan Rudess, the great keyboardist from the supergroup Dream Theater. Jordan was impressed by Daniel's talent and asked him to play the guitar on his solo album "Rhythm of Time," along with such greats as Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore, Steve Morse, and more. When Daniel recorded his own first solo album, it was Jordan Rudess who gave Daniel J his first big break. Jordan, who plays on several tracks of “Losing Time” had this to say about Daniel:

"Daniel J is among the most talented musicians I have ever met. From the moment I first heard his music I knew that this was a young person that I wanted to not only support, but have involved in my own music! Now it's time for all of you to discover Daniel as well. Enjoy his music and his talent on this release and join me as we begin to follow the career of an outstanding musician."
"I am very proud to be part of ProgRock Records, it’s the exact right home for my record and it's great to be along side projects like Frameshift and artists like James LaBrie and Sebastian Bach, I am a big fan", commented Daniel of his signing with ProgRock Records.

“Daniel is really an amazing talent. When Jordan Rudess contacted me and asked me to check it out, I knew it must be good, and it was really off the charts, this is an incredible young man that everyone should be keeping their eye on.” Said Shawn Gordon, President of ProgRock Records.

”Losing Time” is the ProgRock Records debut release from Daniel J, and can be found at [fixed link] (http://www.progrockrecords.com/artists/view.php?id=43%3Ehttp://www.progrockrecords.com/artists/view.php?id=43) This is an album with a lot of power and intensity, but always with a sense of melody. The songs and lyrics speak about the things we all deal with in relationships, you will no doubt see some of yourself in these well crafted songs. The album will be released in early August 2005."

How cool is that?!

That's cool. It's also great to hear that JR supports young musicians this way! You should buy the CD, in 20 years there will be threads like "somebody has a copy of "losing time"?" :-)

Daniel J is really so talented. JR recommended me about him, and I was in touch with Daniel a while ago, and he sent me his demo, really impressive.
He definitely has a bright future.
His father is a well known Saxophone player in Israel.

All the best to Daniel J, he deserves it! Looking forward to get the cd, I have good relations with ProgRock Records.

If the demo we received is the same as what is going to be released - it is absolutely fantastic! Glad to hear Daniel and ProgRock got together!
