I found a pretty cheap one at Musicians warehouse website and thinking of buying it since it seems a lot cheaper then the high end beasts like the yamaha S-90 but how much quality am I sacrificing for the cost?

First, I think it should not have been called "Juno". The real Juno series synths are classics. Roland should have left that alone and came up with a new name, since it's a new keyboard. Comparitively, It's very similar to the RS-50, but I personally don't think it's worth the investment. I noticed you compared to the S90 from yamaha in your post... What criteria are you looking for in a keyboard? Being a 100% Roland user (my entire rig is roland), I'm very reluctant to recommend that board.

I agree with Chris, the Juno-D is just Roland's latest 'el-cheapo' starter synth, along the same lines as the RS-5, XP-10, etc. It's got decent sounds, but not very much programmability. To me, the biggest drawbacks are 1) No SRX expansion capability, 2) Each patch can only use 2 'tones' (waveforms), whereas the standard XV/Fantom engine allows you to use 4.
I would recommend this kind of synth to someone who's just getting started in keyboards and is looking for a low-cost way to get into the keyboard business, but for anything any more serious than that this synth will be a bit of a disappointment.

OK thanks in that case Ill just save for the Yamaha S90, that is one sweet looking board!

Yeah definitely, you'll be much more satisfied with the S90 -- nice choice by the way :)

There is no way you compare S90 with Juno-D! It's like comparing T3 to Triton Extreme :D
However, for that money, I must say Juno-D is very fine. Not perfect, but with a little of tweakin' you can make some standard fine patches. I recomend it as a secondary keyboard that will help you live in organizing your sound set.

There was no comparison made.
The advice given was to purchase the S90 and Forget the JUNO-D.
The price difference is double. Obviously it can't be compared. :)

I think Juno D its a good starter synth for a keyboardist with little experience in the synth bussiness.
