teeths! It was done 24 hours ago. I had 2 left to be removed. Now Its still bleeding a bit, but not much. And the pain is almost gone. I wonder though if I should still wait before I smoke a join. My dentist says its ok for weed after a day, but he said to wait one more day for cigarette. Since my 2 other teeths have been removed 4 years ago, I don't remember what was my old dentist's advice. Anyone with some wisdom words for me? Bad experiences smoking the next day, etc.?

I had all 4 out at once, about 5 years ago.
My (oral surgeon) told me not to drink through a straw because it puts pressure on the stitches during healing. 2 of mine were impacted, so my procedure was a bit rough. If you have stitches in there, I'd wait on smoking anything for the same reason, as it may put pressure on the stitches...

With your pain, maybe you should smoke some
weed the next day....and the day after that....
and.....

Since you've gone a while without a smoke, why not use this opportunity to quit? I wasn't smart enough to quit when I had mine out, and I ended up with 2 drysockets. Very painful. It took another 4 years or so to quit. (10/18/2000)

If you're searching for people having bad experiences with smoking and joins go to the graveyard, there are a lot of them (no personal offend, I just find it kidding to be proud of smoking and to be blind for the consequences).

I never smoked anything in my whole life (except for 2 cigars ;) ), and I don't understand people who do. It's expensive, it's dangerous, it's shit!

hahaha I don't mean your a stupid person in your totality, but you just sound like those stupid US ad that say that smoking a join will make you lose your mind SO MUCH that you could even shoot your best friend or drive out of McDonald's drive-thru so fast that you wouldn't see someone coming slowly in bicycle in front of your car. Come on, we are talking about a marijuana join here, not alcohol or strong narcotics. Yes, it alters your senses a bit (after a few years its not really the same), but don't tie the knot too hard... You lose control much more after 3 beers than after 3 joins. And for those who saw them, notice how the ads use the same technic US medias always use to influence people : TERROR! haha Americans suck so much at times.

By the way this is not something I'm proud of at all, I don't yell on the roofs that I smoke weed, but this is certainly not something that I hide. I lost a very good friend because of alcohol, so I think I'm pretty aware of the bad consequences using illicit substances may have. Anyway I was just asking from people experience what could be the consequences of smoking after my "operation", if you wanna start a debate about the pros/cons of smoking weed, I'll be happy to participate and show you that this plant is not only about bad things.

I never smoked anything in my whole life (except for 2 cigars ), and I don't understand people who do. It's expensive, it's dangerous, it's shit!

And it's fun! I know its bad for health, but you don't seem to have any idea of what you're talking about, I've already heard this mainstream thought a million times. Oh! And someone with his 2 cents will sure come up saying "You think that because he doesn't smoke he's not an expert and he can't give his opinion or critic and bla bla bla bla...". Sure you can give your opinion, but I wouldn't push it too hard since you have no experience of what you're talking about. You're only relying on what you've heard from other people or what medias put in your sight. By the way, Cannabis has some good medicinal peoperties, so saying that it's dangerous and shit has to come from someone who is ignorant about it.

I agree with you to a point, but I think I've personally done more damage to my own lungs touring the bars and inhaling second hand smoke from all the smoking going on in the venues. You can really see it in the stage lights when it gets warm up there. By the end of the night, I used to smell like smoke, sweat and beer.... The county I live in went smoke free in the bars last year, but it may be too late for me. Time will tell when I get old...:)

If the smoking won't get you, your dry sockets will.

Oh God!! It hurts just saying DRY SOCKETS.

Uhm. In defence to maJ estY's post: Anything that can make you get addicted is bad. Wether its peniciline, weed, alcohol or gambling. And if it damages your health at the same time I'd be even more careful.

There's a reason why pregnant mothers should not smoke, and if kids grow up in such an environment they're bound to get astmatic diseases, often chronical.

i had all four taken out at once. it was awesome. only becuase they gave me all these sedatives the day of the operation and i felt really mellow lol. i dont remember a lot of it either. and i got an infection because food got into the wholes or something like that, so they had to give me more drugs haha. at the time, i had just got legend of zelda:majora's mask for the good ol' 64. i had this really funny pic of how swollen my cheeks got during that time, if i find it again, i'll post it for a good laugh.

Eeurgh, when I had mine out, it was a general anesthetic, but i was really young, so the aftereffects went on for daaays - couldn't walk in a straight line for two days afterwards.

hehe nice stories! looking forward for those pics king_ellesar! I can't imagine some poeple had all four removed at the same time... They deserve the medal of courage for that!

It's been 3 day now and the bleeding seems to have almost completely stopped this afternoon. I just ate a good hot meal (hadn't had one since the "operation") tonight, brush my tooth, and I let my mouth become full of mouth water (haven't come with an acurate traduction for the liquid we have in the mouth. is it spill?) and when I let it out, it had no red in it! I should have regain 90 % of my capacity in 2-3 days, just in time for my relaxing day at Mont-Tremblant (massage and Spa all day :) )

I had all four of my wisdom teeth taken out when I was in the coast guard. I didn't make it all the way through the 8 weeks of boot camp, though. During the fourth week and after the operation I was discharged because of mental stress. Joining the CG was the worst mistake I ever made. The one thing that pissed me off the most was the doctor originally said he had to pull four teeth and then found two other ingrown teeth. The good thing about the operation, is it was free.

Arrgh... apparently I have 4 wisdom teeth in 4 very uncomfortable positions... basically where there is no room for them if they decide to pop out and grow... The dentist suggested I have them removed before they come out but another one said that theres enough room... err... 2nd opinion not helping here! lol...

Do yourself a favor and get em out now ! The longer you wait the worse it gets. I know from experience. Mine were coming in at an angle headed straight for my molars. A couple more weeks and there would have been a collision and broken teeth in my mouth !
