View Full Version : Bright Acoustic Piano
I need some help finding a good piano-sound... I want to play "my immortal" (evanescence) with my band, so now I finally need a good acoustic piano sound. Although I have a K2500XS with piano-rom and kdfx the sounds are not the way I want them. They still seem to sound too much like a synth, I don't know how to telll - the space is missing...
Do you know "my immortal" and have a piano sound that sound that's equal, for a K2500?

Roland has got some good ones
Err, no sorry, can't help you with that ;)
Yes, my Roland A90 has some good ones... you can hear them better when playing in a band. But then I'd have to carry 45kg Kurzweil AND 28kg Roland
How are the Yamaha-sounds? David Paich (Toto) uses Yamaha piano-sounds as far as I know and they're pretty good...
EDIT: What do you think about this ones?

When Evanescence did Bring Me To Life on the Billboard awards show Amy played the piano intro on a Yamaha Motif ES8 and it sounded gorgeous. That is my favourite piano sound on a board but the best sound I have found on my computer is the Reason piano sound from the Factory Soundbank (using the NN-XT sampler) - but then that'd involve lugging a computer round with you too! LOL

I concur regarding the ES8 triple strike piano
especially since I've been using it very much
lately.

You really should try the K-sounds vol.1 CD. It has IMO the BEST Steinberg Grand sound for Kurzweils. I don't listen to evanedencencendnencesencedence  , so I'm not sure what you're looking for, but if you want realism, you got it. Forget about Motifs and all that... (No offence) :P

I've heard that one. I agree about the sounds in all
their glory. Another one you should check out is
Mike Martin's Keysolutions piano CD-Rom for the
Kurzweil Kxxxx series. In my humble opinion,
phenomenal!!!

Thanks a lot - the Motif is mentioned also in other topics to be a very good synth, perhaps it's worth to buy the rack version... damn car I have to buy first when moving to university :(
Perhaps it's the best to get the K-sounds, it's about 150$ + shipping and taxes if it's sold to europe - never tried that, are there high taxes?

You better get a BIG car with all that gear you have... :D
Well, here's the type 'equipment-car' I'm actually driving
No, just got it to bring my gear down the damn stairs when nobody is at home to help me...
