I just bought Pro Tools MPowered and I also run Reason 3.0 along with iTunes on my computer...
Anyways, for some reason tonight I had itunes on and was listening to music and then some friends came over so i closed out to show them protools and how it looked cause they havent seen it. When they left I went back to listen to music but itunes didnt respond. It would open but everytime I hit play it wouldnt play the songs...so I closed out again, and it did the same thing, it wouldnt work no matter what.
I rebooted my computer and opened itunes and it worked...then I went to use protools and guitar pro at some point in the evening (to look at a midi printout of a Muse song) and I was having issues getting the midi to work once I closed out of protools...it took 15 minutes to get the midi to "sound" on my computer (as in, to get sound) and then Itunes was on the fritz again not playing stuff until I rebooted...which at this point, it worked till about 20 minutes ago after I closed out of protools (to see if they are not functioning well together) and then itunes still wont play any music right now...come to think of it, nothing is playing music right now except for the recording programs.
This is my spec readout:
P4 3.6GHz with HT disabled (per the instructions from protools)
1 GB ram
250 GB SATA Internal Hard Drive (3 partitions, 1 exclusively for protools and formatted the way it should be according to the manual)
250 GB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive
M-Audio Delta Audiophile 2496
My sound options are set to send all music to the outs of my audiophile...etc and my Roland Fantom X8 is hooked up to this...I also dont know if this might be that my roland shut off and then itunes didnt work, I dont remember the order of events.
I use Properllerhead Reason 3.0, Digidesign Pro-Tools MPowered and I also have Guitar Pro 4 to read full band tabs on some songs tonight..
If anyone has any clue what I'm talking about...my computer never did this before pre-protools...I was using cakewalk sonar 3 and things always worked fine (well playback for audio in itunes...etc)...I don't understnad, I might just reinstall ProTools, iTunes and Reason tomorrow and try again if I can't think or find a solution..help please.
