What do you think? L-100 or M-3? I'm planning to buy a hammond soon and I'm not sure which of those I should buy. I live in Finland so I can't afford a bigger Hammond because they cost about 2-4 times more than in USA :S So pleaaaaaase help me :) What are the biggest diffrences in these? And does someone have sound clips of these?:) thank you very much and sorry for my bad english :)

If you get the "Welcome Back My Friends...." vid by
Emerson, Lake and Palmer you'll see him smash his
as he played the Rondo. It has a rather aggressive
tone in comparison to the M-3.
There's also a new vid coming out this month with Keith
playing an M-3.

They're both spinets. I.E, 44 key manuals in lieu of 61. Both should have built in amplifiers and speakers. The M-3 has the same tonewheel and innards as the B-3, and IIRC is the more desirable of the two.
That said, John Paul Jones, and others, played an L-100.
Make sure you have enough $$$ for the Leslie !

thank you! Leslies aren't that expensive here in finland so that's not a problem :) but the organs are.... a crappy a-100 is about 5000€... and that's a crappy one :| but could someone tell me if there's big diffrences in the sound? the technical details are easy to find on the internet :P but I'd want real peoples opinions :) thaaaank yoooou :)

another thing to consider is that the M3 has got waterfall keys. So if you want to do palm smears and stuff like that go for the M3...
otherwise...

What are "Waterfall Keys" ?

Classic Hammond consoles, such as the B3, C3 and A-100, have keys with flat fronts and a slightly radiused edge. These are often referred to as 'waterfall' keys because of their resemblance in profile. The original model A and many other models prior to the '3' series had flat-fronted keys but without a radiused edge.
Of the spinet organs, only the M-series had waterfall keys. As with the consoles, only the M '3' series has radiused edges.
WaterfallKeys are preferred by non-classical organists because they're easier to play slides (glissandi) on. Unlike a thumb gliss, non-classical organists will often palm smear up and into a chord. This exposes the webbing between the thumb and forefinger to the sharp edges of other types of keys. As a special effect, they are also easier to jamb a matchbook in front to hold down a key while playing elsewhere...
