Keyboard solos over Honor Thy Father...

I did a couple of these, the first one in Rudess' choesen style and sound (even though the sound on my board was a bit rubbish), and the second in my own synth tone.

Btw, were the joins between the different parts of the song noticable to you guys? I spliced together the intro section and the bit before the synth solo for me to solo over, and i think it worked quite well. And I just HAD to include those sick phrases at 0:10 and 1:13, so it's a little longer than it really needs to be, lol.

The transition was pretty smooth, at first glance i didnt notice anything at all

Yeah, your lead definitely has a Matt Guillory sound to it...that synthesized guitar type thing.

damn those sound good...i like your tone better than your JR tone (the JR one is close, but maybe sounds a little too FX-laden to the point where it's hard to hear the notes).

and, your editing sounds good on the backing track--you don't really notice the cuts

My board is a Yamaha PSR-740. Not a workstation, so that wasn't my own sounds going in there, just me playing around with the factory patches it has.
