Yeah...as you can tell by the title, there's some uh...personal...feelings behind this song. ;) I recorded it last night after I took a long walk by myself and took a stop at a scenic pond type area in a nearby neighborhood...great to just sit there and think, especially in the nice weather right now. So after I was in that contemplative state of mind, I felt like recording something when I got home, and this is the result.

Oh, if the link expires, just let me know and I'll put up another one.

Hey Ryan,
That was really nice, the pad and lead went well together & good tones, I alwyas regret never getting a JD when they came out. I would have liked to hear some kind of moving sound on top of the pad kicking in after a few bars, like a wave sequence or arpeggio pattern, not drums though. I'm finding myself doing a lot of laid back stuff lately, helps relieve stress and get your emotions out....good work :)

Ah yes, girls inspire such pretty songs, don't they? ;) I was worried that the lead tone would be too harsh, but it worked out pretty well. The backing pad seemed a bit too cold, but nothing major.

This one strikes me more than your 'funkified' ones for some reasons... I like the lead tone. The notes are good & sounds like well composed.. even though the chords progressions are quite simple.. your lead playing helps build it into something bigger...

Axe2Grind: Yeah, I'm really loving this lead sound right now...it works over anything I put it to. I like the suggestion for the arpeggio stuff over the top, I'm definitely gonna toy with that if I ever do another recording of this tune, which I'll probably do (refine some things and probably add a little bit more)
LithoJazzoSphere: I know what you mean about the pad. It's actually just a preset pad that I was using. I sat down, wrote this, and recorded it all within a short amount of time (trying to capture inspiration before it flutters away), so I just used what I had. Ideally I would have liked some sort of sweeping pad (without that downward swooshing sound), and a little warmer than this one.
Synthz: I'm not surprised that this one "says" more. It's a lot easier to make emotional music when you've actually got something that you're trying to get across, instead of the "Hey guys, look at all the scales I know!" kinda stuff that it's real easy for musicians to fall in a rut with...something I'm admittedly guilty of.
