I'm having a little trouble trying to recording different sounds through my keyboard in Digital Performer.

When I record one sound from my keyboard let's say (Piano) on track 1 and then go to track 2 to and record (Bass) digital Performer only recognizes the sound that I am currently using on my Keyboard and plays the Piano part back in Bass. I'm trying to create something as simple as one sound on one track and another sound on another track using the MIDI setup in Digital Performer, etc... But it only recognizes one sound at a time.

Can somebody please help me out?

I tried messing with the device groups hoping that would help and I just can't get it to work out.

Thanks,

You're quite vague. From your post, several questions may arise:

- what's the final sound source: the keyboard or the computer ?

- in case it is your keyboard: is your keyboard multitimbral ? (i.e. being able to play on several MIDI channels at a time)

- in case it is your computer: did you change MIDI channels on the tracks ? (as a matter of fact, you can't assign MIDI channel e.g. 1 on both track 1&2 if you want to have 2 separate sounds on those tracks, you must assign one individual MIDI channel for each track, e.g. MIDI channel 1 for track 1, MIDI channel 2 for track 2, etc.)
