The difference in price is roughly 900 euros but what does the X6 have that Xa doesn't. Which one do you prefer if you think of the quality/price ratio. And what about the rack version of X6 (the one called XR)?

EDIT: is there another product from some other company that is comparable with the Xa and is also in the same price range?

Well the worst thing is that the Xa only has ONE SRX slot :P

It also has the Fantom-S sound engine, which is pratically as good as the X6, but it is a little less quality.

The screen is also a lot smaller (more like the Fantom XR's LCD).

Only 12 pads.

That's about it. :)

As far as i know, the basic differences are:
- The XA features the Sample ROM of the Fantom S, so you won't have the new X6 sounds like the new Grand Piano
- Better keyboard action on the X6, it could be that there's no aftertouch on the XA
- Bigger Display on the X6
- The XA's Drumpads are not velocity sensitive
- You can only add one SRX board to the XA

The XR is cool, but a hell to program if you don't use software. Personally, I don't like the sound, too hard and too hi-fi in my ears, I prefer the sounds of things like Korg M1, but that's just me. Very usable patches out of the box, organs seemed to be a bit weak. But a great device for the price!

The only comparable product in thies price range would be the Triton LE.
