Wasn't there a page (or a post or something) on dtfaq about this? I remember seeing it ages ago, but it might have got deleted after that. HTH

Here's some more for you all :)

First off, here is the edited 6DOIT intro that DT uses as the intro to As I Am:

http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=2O43N1RU9U0EE3SWWIGDV1XWQ0

Next, here is the sample for the bridge section of Honor Thy Father. This one was a lot of work, I actually went out and rented every movie that was used -- this one is extremely accurate, if you line it up with the real song it's almost perfect :) There is only one sample I couldn't get because no one could figure out what movie it was from :)

http://s43.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1E3CIU9OVPMS50WM59GJILTYB8

Finally, here are my intro and outro samples for The Great Debate. Since I obviously couldn't get the source material that the original samples were made from, I decided to be a little creative and make my own samples. I downloaded a whole bunch of shows from National Public Radio on the topic of stem cell research and spliced them together, hope you like em! They're both the correct lengths to match up with the original song.

If anyone would like to permanently host these samples somewhere, by all means go for it, and post the permanent links in this thread.

Enjoy!

Only one question. I always wondered what the name was at the begginning of 6:00. the woman says ".....isn't it for the honour of god ?--------?"

Whats that name?! i could never work it out and drives me insane lol

i know that Kevin Moore used to be fairly involved with selecting samples for songs, but who picks them these days? like on Honor Thy Father or The Great Debate? jordan, do you select them since maybe you have to sample them? or does MP handle that? seems like he'd be a likely candidate...

Yeah the 6:00 samples are from a movie called "The Dead":

So any more comments on the samples? I was interested to see what you guys thought of my samples for The Great Debate :)

When I get home, I'll take a look, but if it's consistant with any of your past works, I'm positive I'll be impressed.
*looks forward to going home from work lol*

i thought they kicked ass!! how the hell did you do it, AND get the timing right? must have taken you hours! Only one thing i would say and its not that important. Towards the end of the samples in the actual song, the voices start talking together, start getting jumbled. Maybe you could add some more over the top? give it that cool "busy" effect.

Ahh the dead you say?? i shall have to watch it just for that part!! i'll laugh my ass off!

Oh and btw, has anybody got any samples at all from metropolis part 2?? and if not has anybody got a good hypnotherapist voice that sounds liek the one in the cd?? i'm doing it live with my band (after months of work!) and i need the hynotherapist voice ( i can provide the clock if needs be) cheers for any help!

Tell me exactly what parts you want and I'll do them. Do you want the whole original intro from Regression up until the singing comes in? Any other parts?

Yeah I had thought of that, the problem was that I had pretty much ran out of sound bites by the time I finished the samples, so I didn't really have anything left to overlay. I had considered layering the outro on the end of the intro, and the intro on the beginning of the outro, but I decided to leave it the way it was, I thought it might be more interesting to the listener that way.

Ahh the dead you say?? i shall have to watch it just for that part!! i'll laugh my ass off!

It's a pretty boring movie otherwise :) I think I hit STOP as soon as I got the samples, I was bored to tears :)

I wanted to make this sample too (my band played it too), in the end I just ended up ripping Regression off the CD, and then fading out when the guitars start coming in (our real guitar player would start playing the guitar part as soon as the guy starts counting down... "Ten...")

One thing you could do, is take the audio from the easter egg on the LSFNY DVD. In case you didn't know, go to the Color Bar Test on the DVD and let it play for a few minutes, after that you'll see a montage of guys auditioning for the hypnotherapist part... it sounds a little funny but it would make your intro unique ;)

cheers, thanks for the info. If i can't get it i'm sure i can get somebody to do it for me. i mean how hard is it just to get a sound-a-like to do it to a ticking clock? sound good too lol

I wonder if i could stage the parts of finally free (all the gunshots and cars and screams lol) and record a load of samples for that. it would be so funny to try!

Here is the regression intro. I did the best I could removing the guitar. You can only hear it from the "if at any time". Hope it's what you wanted.
