Here's a good one:

What's the average amount of spare time per day you guys have? There are so many forummembers here and they all post and post and post... ;)
*sparetime here is all time that is left after you've done all your obligatory tasks. This includes household.

Now don't lie and pretend to be a no-sleeping machine in order to get your freehours togheter :P Be honest and tell us about your happy studentlives or hard fulltime workdays!

Me, I'm parttime student with an appartment, and parttime job, working offsite so I'm home 50% of the day. My sparetime is most of the time enough, mainly because I'm not exausted after work like most people are. I can devide my own flexible hours (lucky me).
I'm lazy with household so once a week cleaning, weekshopping, and clotheswash will do for me.

6 hours, but I'm too tired to do anything. Even less if I have to do certain things which I shouldn't have to, or study. That's getting 7 hours sleep.

So if I did everything I should the way I should it would be like, 3-4 hours :P

Well I´m a designer working freelance at home, I also teach at a University one night a week, but the rest of my schedule is pretty flexible, I mostly work on my record every day for many hours......so every day is different and I can not define the line that separates my spare time and working time.....

and cause I work at home I can check the forum any time of the day.....hehe

But you use that for playing a 2 minute and 33 second long Oasys-powered trumpet solo, don't you Jordan? :)

Right now I have 24/7 spare time. It's not that I have nothing to do, but college starts in October, so... ;)

Edit: Oops, this topic is pretty old... I just saw Jordan posting and checked his last couple of messages he posted. :)

lol oh well, I have no problems with a thread revival... :P

I have QUITE a few spare hours now, especially as its the holidays... I've been getting creative! Today I did a bit of digital painting in Photoshop CS... a hobby of mine... All completely free-hand (or rather, free mouse because i can't afford to buy a tablet)... hope you enjoy =)
You can see the rest of my stuff at http://kevmofan.deviantart.com (or at least when I actually put the rest of the stuff up! lol)

Wow, yeah the first one is amazing. Can't believe you did that with a mouse.

I have "guilty free time". As in my power source died so all my music projects in Cubase are currently in purgatory until my new PSU arrives from Newegg :( I should be recording 24/7 but I'm drinking iced tea and watching TV instead.

What is is with power supplies dying? The only part I've had to ever replace on my computer is my PSU, and I've had to replace it three times in 3 years!

I have 5 kids

You do the maths

I have 2 kids, both girls, ages 4 years, and 7 months old respectively. My wife and I both work. I live 2 miles from the office (which is good, but I still have to commute to a daycare center to drop off and pick up one of my 2 kids. Wife does the same with the other kid), which means I spend my lunch hours fixing the house, mowing the lawn, folding laundry and if I'm lucky, practicing and programming midi patches into my MX-8. I laugh when I hear single people with no wife or kids say they are busy ! Time is a bubble that you fill up with what you do. Some of it you can control. Some of it you can't. You can try to manage it. I work in I.T., so a lot of my time is managed by out of control emergencies caused by the errors of others. Like most I.T. people in the forum, I get the occaisional page or cell call in the middle of the night to go fix a downed router, server, firewall, etc... So to answer the question, the amount of spare time I have is a calculation based on: 1. What time the kids get to bed, +2. how much laundry remains to be folded, +3.what things in the house are broken and need to be fixed, +4. and if there are any family activities planned or in progress...generally the sum of that equation amounts to less than 5 minutes a day, but some days are great and I actually get to spend my entire lunch hour practicing. :)
