Since my DX7 transmits MIDI data only on channel 1, is it possible to use the SETUP mode of the K2000R for splitting sounds on different channels, in other words, can I use, for example, a strings patch from my N364 on my left hand and a bell patch from my TR-Rack on my right hand, controlled by my DX7 and split by K2000R?
Why I'm asking this is because any of my Korg gear doesn't and I'd like to use some other synths than only the TR-Rack on gigs. (I want to have only the DX7 on stage).
I don't own the Kurz yet and I'd like to get into V.A.S.T :P

There should be a setting in the korgs to set note limits for parts. So on the TR, you could set it to only play down to a certain key and vice versa for the N. That way you can use 2 parts from one MIDI channel.

Yes I could do it that way but it's a lot of work. I'd have to leave blank patches in the TR-Rack when I want a patch from N364 etc.

Setup mode works on different channel. Actually each Zone is a different midi channel. You can set the range of a Zone using SetRng soft button.
