Is it just me who adores it?? i mean although i am religious it hasn't anything to do with the religious context of gospel choirs. I do mention choirs because that what i like, not so much the bands + solo singers. I just love the harmony and such uplifting music!! its amazing. Does anybody else agree? I'd absolutely love to sing in one, but i'm not african american so i can't......
oh and another thing i always wanted to sing in was a barbershop quartet lol, i thought it would be really cool!

I play keyboard at my church, and it's a blast. There's a piano player as well (I do mostly rhodes/hammond stuff, and some church organ), and the two of us have so much fun with that stuff. We're lucky too...they pick pretty diverse music to play, ranging from traditional bluesy gospel to big church organ driven hymns to pure funky goodness. We actually did the version of "Joyful Joyful" from Sister Act (2?) for the Christmas mass this year. http://www.jordanrudess.com/forum/images/icons/icon6.gif

a pretty good solo artist ive been impressed by in the past in gospel music is a guy named Fred Hammond. he utilizes full choirs live and has a really good band. plus a good voice and really fun cool songs. check out Pages of Life Chapters 1&2 (i think). it has some pretty cool stuff.
