It would be a cool idea for all the Dream Theater keyboardists to get together and make a short concept album?

I know it'd never work, but it'd be really cool to hear all the different styles together.

Hmm, a Jamming session! Like the Moog space jam XD They could get together and just jam, record it, and put it up for download.

If there was a K3 I'd like to have

Derek Sherniain, Jens Johansson, Guther Werno (Vanden Plas, Angra, Kamelot)

Those 3 guys would complement each other in a good way which would sound very cool.

For me Jordan would have to be matched up with Jazz guys like Tom Coster and Steven Weingard or Jay Oliver (both of Dave Weckl's group)

That would be amazing but I donīt see Kevin Moore getting into the thing, maybe if itīs a concept album or an album but not a jammed kind of stuff, I donīt think heīs the kind of guy who would like something like that....

my guess anyway

We had a K3 thread awhile back, there were lots of cool ideas in it. I'd love to see JR, Jens and Vitalij Kuprij.

hehe Kevin left for a reason, and he doesn't really want to associate too much with them. Not that he doesn't want to be mates with them, but that he doesn't want to be associated with their music. That's one of the reasons why he didn't join them when Derek came on tour. I mean, he was invited but he didn't want to.

Now... if we got Tori Amos down... thats a completely different story... ;) ;)

I think Tori Amos started off uninterested in chops, and has gotten less and less interested in chops. Her last couple of albums have been very, um, sedate; like KevMo, her speciality is creating a pervading feeling rather than outlandishly clever composition.

ever been to one of her concerts? i hear she is insanely good and technical on some of her new stuff actually. a close friend of mine whose views on music i trust greatly (for he is the one who introduced me to Dream Theater by the way) went to her concert and was completely blown away by *very* clever compositions ;)

Nothing is, but it wasn't the direction that HE wanted to take. They were growing apart as friends as well, just becoming detached. That's a lot of it. KM wanted to do his own thing.

Well that makes more sense.....hehe, indeed that would be cooler, but with Jordan and Derek that would be CRAZY hehehe....really unusual mix
