Hello everyone,

I plugged my mp3 player and my kurzweil into one pair of headphones and was trying to play along with Dream Theater (Scenes from a Memory) and I sound like I am way out of tune with what the're playing. Do they play a few cents higher or lower or is it somehting with my keyboard?

Could be the playback speed of your MP3 player? Unless your Kurzweil's master tuning is out which is also possible. (shrugs)
Might wanna take a look at that. *What song is it or is it all of them?*

My Kurzwei master tuning is set to 0. The play back speed of the mp3 player isn't adjustable. I was playing Spirit Carries On mainly but they all seem to be off a little bit. I'm getting that nasty wavy, out of tune sound.

Could you perhaps be using a program that uses non-standard tuning, such as stretch?

Only song I can think of by them that's off less than a half-step is SDV.

Its my standard piano patch 001. Grand Piano. :( I couldn't be playing it that wrong could I? Spirit Carries On is in D with C# and F# right?

More than likely, you're playing it right. I know some piano samples are tuned the exact same way that a real piano is in that it's stretch tuning. What about another piano sound? Or try playing it with a string sound to see if it's right?

If it's standard tuning, shouldn't it be like A=440Khz or something? Check this one, it might accidentally switched.

Look for a guitar tuning program online, and plug your keyboard into your compute,r then tune from there.
