Wow, that kid is pretty impressive! He's coming to my city, too, perhaps I'll get the chance to see him.

All right, now I´m jealous... ;-)
Amazing playing, his style reminds me of Oscar Peterson a bit, maybe even Art Tatum´s.

I have to admit that he plays very fast and... wow he es good!
I'm playing keyboard like 7 years ago (i'm 15 now//like 1 year ago i've beginned playing with the KURZWEIL K2600) and I can notist that he is a very good player. like the last post i wanna say that i'm jealous too.

I'm not so much impressed with his technique, sure he's fast, but it's his note selection that I'm blown away by. He plays damn clean, and it's VERY tight but man, those notes. He knows "HOW" to play and that's what I'm impressed by...

"Point of View" sounds like something Chick Corea would write.

Sadly, young jazz virtuosos don't fair too well nowadays, but I hope he rises above that.

Quite amazing. Actually this reminds me very much of Hiromi, any fans here?
She is also very young, I believe she released her first CD "Another Mind" before graduating from Berklee. Check her out at http://www.hiromimusic.com/
I think I read in one of her interviews that she listens to Dream Theater.

Best.

I admire his skills in jazz...but just remember guys...all of you aspiring musicians...If you are TRULY serious about playing...you can become better than you ever dreamed of (yes...even better than Eldar)...just take those music theory classes seriously...work on fingering techniques (not with girls...get ur mind out of the gutter), accuracy, speed, and composition..keep developing...you as well as I could sound even better than him...dont ever think "Mother Fucker! He is too good" like Speedy Fingers. You can do it guys!

Yeah, good for this guy that he did it young, but as long as you work hard you can always achieve good results (unless of course you have serious physical limitations, lik being paralyzed for example).

:O Dont use me as a bad example!

The guy's only 18, started learning jazz at 9! He must've started playing when he was very young to be where he's at now.

Ktriton,
You are welcome. Her 2nd CD is also vey good but is less in something, maybe a little quieter or less dramatic, I don't know. Also, something that had my jaws glued to the floor for a while is that both her albums are recorded LIVE!!! :D
Anyway, enjoy the music.

Best.
