Hey. i have a Roland RD700 and im not really that experienced with it yet and am learning to manipulate the sounds on it. Im not so happy with it right now, but i really dont know much about it yet. Does anyone know how to get some cool sounds coming out of that thing? Also, im trying to record some music with Cakewalk from my RD700 and im not getting that good of a sound coming out. i dont know that much about sound engineering, and am still getting familiar with cakewalk. does anyone know how i can learn to make the audio recordings sound better? and/or if i need another program to make the sound have better quality? sorry if this all isnt that clear. thanks for your help!

The RD 700 is a stage piano, what type of tones are you trying to get out of it? Typically stage pianos offer a limited range of tones with their strong point on piano tones.
As far as recording into Cakewalk you should be able to get a good signal in. What you might want to do is test recording a wave file in another application to get your levels correct. This will allow you to simply check your sound card options outside of the app. In many cases there are settings and levels that are outside of cakewalk that effect your recording.

I have Cakewalk but when i record i dont record by audio, i go through midi cables into the sound card and it gives me a better sound. I also took me a while of just messing around to get all the output and input levels just right. Good luck!
