He guys,

I am hanging out here quite much and this must be the first time for posting something! Hope you guys enjoy it. It is an instrumental song (for now) with some spacy, DT, ethnic, etc etc ingredients. The middle part features a rather unusual scale.

The band is called Emphasis (no, not stolen by After Forever or other bands, because we officially formed in 1995)

Hope the link works. don't expect some fancy flashing site, because it isn't! :)

I didn't have time posting al the songs, but maybe the coming days...

I enjoyed it!! :D

The beginning sounds quite familiar ;) but it turned out to be really good and the very beginning somehow reminds me of DT's "Home"

I'd really like to hear more of your stuff!

Keep on rrRocking

Thank you very much!

We are in need of a website. So we are gonna focus on that the coming weeks. This soundclick thing does not work out very well, but it was a quick and dirty way.

Woahh..very proggy!

This sounds like a live rehearsal recording?? Or is this a recording? The production can be improved imo, especially the drums, it's a bit too behind in the back..

Hey Semmi, is that the Trinity you're using in this song? Or another key? The sound patches are pretty good, piano is quite good..

Majorly digging the patch at 4:00. What kind of board do you use?

He guys!

Overwhelmed by these reactions. thanks man!
Yep, I used the Trinity except for the piano part at 4:46. that's a Yamaha P-80. Must admit that that board doesn't come through that good as I expected. It completely drowns in the mix. But I like the sound so much. We had to level it up majorly.
The 'tighty' sound at approx 4:00 is again from the trinity. It's a mixture between some kalimba's and other stuff. Sure one of the most proggy things I wrote since I like to write around chords and melodies more often.
No, it is not a live recording. Every instrument was recorded seperate but almost in one take. I just heard the new mixes and some things were really improved like the drumsound.

For the guru's: I didn't use the moss board at all. So everything is straight from the main source. ;)

thanks! The sound I use there is made up with some ethnic flavours. Sitar, Strings, eastern percussion under the left hand.

What do you guys think of the hammond sound?

Hi Moondark,

Well, this song was intended to lack catchy melodies!! :) I think if you compare this song to the rest of the catalogue this really stands out in terms of prog and diversity.

Furthermore the song will contain a singer in the definitive version.
