Yeah, this is a two-person show-off thread :) Let me know what you guys think of my solo, it starts around 3:18!
I think you guys will really like Juan's stuff ;)
Wow, I like that one.Very nice solo, at first (when doing other stuff at the same time) I didn't recognize it, so it fit's in perfectly. Very smooth playing, did you use a monophonic sound together with the sustain pedal?
I also like the rest of the song, perhaps I'd change the mix at some points (only volumes).
Did you record with a band, or just you two?

Thanks for the comments Imax :) I recorded my solo and emailed it to Juan, he's from Costa Rica and I'm from Canada. He can tell you all about the recording of the rest of the song :)
As far as my lead sound, that came from my JP-8000. It's a two-osc saw lead (one osc tuned an octave below to get thay Ayreon sound I love so much), monophonic, portamento, and a bit of the on-board delay to fill it out a bit. I only used the sustain pedal twice I think, just to hold a note while I get in position for the next run of notes.

This song rocks and the solo is superb, fits the mood of the song really well and loved all the sounds used, specially the hammond & Vox. Excellent work guys, would be good to hear more from this album (thats if you're planning on putting it on an album)...:)

Thanks for the comments!....yeah I recorded everything here in Costa Rica with a band that started as my solo project, but now is taking more the shape of a formal band, on the recording there´s a real bass player, drums, guitars, keys and vocals....somethings are samples and looped stuff, but almost everything we recorded for real.....still working on the mix though...any comments apreciated!
And for the solo, Rick and I are online friends for a long time now, we met last year in person at Progpower V, so I asked him if he wanted to play a solo on my album and thank goodness he agreed, it is an incredible solo!!!, I ´m so happy about it!
Axe: thanx for the support dude!, that means a lot to us!
And most thanks to Rick, he´s and amazing player!!, I want sometime to be able to do solos like that one!

Juan, your stuff rocks! i really liked the organ solo in the beginning, and nice lead soloing Drusillus! Juan, be sure to let us know when you get an album recorded and where we can get it! i'd really like to get it if it happens :) oh, by the way, i liked the singer's voice. was that you? or is it another singer? anyways, nice work on the song man! if i'm ever in costa rica, i'll make sure to catch a show of yours :P but i doubt i'll be goin there any time soon lol.

Cool man...did you post part of this earlier? The intro seems familiar and think you may have posted a portion of this before...
Very cool track though. I don't have much to add besides echoing what has been said already, so I'll just say good job to everybody involved.
The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that the snare after the keyboard solo seemed really muffled.

My King from Gondor: thanks for the comments dude!, I have material for a whole conceptual record and my plans are to record it some time soon, but my inmediate plans are to make a selection of three or four songs (they´re almost done by now :D ) to make a demo and send it abroad to see if anyone´s interested on it, to make a serious production. Nop, I´m not the singer...I sing the "over the phone" part on some of it though
Liquid Shadow: yeah, I´ve posted this before but then the drums and bass were midi and all the rest was just a composition maquete....so it sounded like crap...hehe
Any more comments?
thanks!!!
