Hi all,
I own a K2600XS and I'm thinking on buying a keyboard stand.
Which one do you suggest me? :?:
Thanks.

If your planning on having only the Kurz on the stand get anything that's spec'd for 100lbs+.
If you are going to have multiple board on the stand get an Ultimate IQ-3000.

I need to replace my old-style Quik-Lok 2-tier X stand with a new 3-tier one, and I was planning to get another Quik-Lok, have you compared them to the Ultimate? I've always like Ulitmate column stands but never tried the X stands...
The thing I don't like about my current Quik-Lok is the mechanism with which the tiers connect to the main part of the stand. It's kind of hard to explain, but there's basically a clamp that you tighten that ends up squeezing onto the tubing of the main part... problem is after a few months of setup and tear down the tubing gets bent and you lose stability. The new style Quik-Lok was alligator-teeth connecters that alleviate this problem... I can't really tell from the website how the Ultimate tiers connect, can you shed some light?

I've looking to the Ultimate IQ-3000. It looks very "strong" but do you know what height can it get. When you put the K2600X on it you might not reach the heigth you want because of it's X type form. :(
What do you think about?
PD. I haven't proved it yed. It's my opinion based on the internet picture.

I have 2 IQ2000 stands and they're super sturdy with my XV88, Juno6, and JV80 on it. The 3000 is spec'd for more weight.
The problem that I have with the quickloc stands is the joints are located at the end of the tubes thus forcing you to set up your gear according to the stand and not how you want to set it up.
This is what I've done with an IQ-2000 and extra tier. You cant do that with a Quickloc.

WHOA that seals the deal for me :) Bye bye QuikLok hello (again) Ultimate! :)
On a related note, I remember seeing a few years ago in Keyboard Magazine a company that sold dust-cover like things for Ultimate column stands... basically it fit over the entire stand, they had them in plain black and some other funky patterns... anyone know if that company (or similar) still exists and if there's a web site? I stuck a lot of lame stickers all over my column stand in my teens and I would love to cover them up :)

I read a review that said that the 3000 was too high to sit at. If you plan on sitting and playing you might want to consider the 2000. I don't know if this is still true or not, but if you plan on sitting you might want to look into it.
I got my IQ-3000 recently (for about $65 American, without extra tiers), and it's wonderful. My board doesn't move, and it's 90+ lbs. I'd go with the IQ-3000 anyway, because who knows what the future holds even if you're not planning on getting more boards.

Are QuickLok and Ultimate the only options for very, very sturdy keyboard stands that can hold three boards at a time? I seem to remember seeing in some music stores a while back GOOD stands that would accomplish this goal. The stands were priced around $250.00 (now that I think about it, I should have bought it then....). Any thoughts???

Rick,
I know Musicians friend has the dust covers for keyboards, I dont recall seeing anything for the stands. I guess you could use some Goo-Off and take all the stickers off your stand then do a nice custom paint job on it.
maestrophillips,
There are a number of lesser known stand makers out there generally they make the X stand or the A type stands however Quickloc and Ultimate seem to be the big names. Like Frank suggested you could always opt for the custom stand option.
