View Full Version : Kevin Moore Warm Lead

Does anyone have a Korg Triton .pcg patch of this wonderful, warm, smooth lead sound (the one he uses in almost every song of Images And Words (Learning to live :°°°))) )), or at least some guidelines to program a good patch? Until now, I know it is a low frequency filter cut (I mean the parameter frequency in filter A) to get a Smooth Saw sound, but had bad results (everything sounds far too digital and sharp than I want to).
If you can help me, I'd be grateful.
Thanks, Deceit.

hi there man , that sound is made on a korg Dw-8000 ... I used to get that kind of sound with a saw wave and playing with the cutoff of the patch...
I think that with the MOSS exp board it could be easier to make

I knew :) by the way a lot of Korg synth progs sound like it, but none has the same warmth...they are all so digital compared to it!

That synth has really good analog emulation (DW-8000)

Hey, I have a suggestion. Go here:

http://www.albertorizzoschettino.com/~progsounds/board/index.php

It's a site that our Alberto Schettino is hosting, which should be filling with patches programmed for all the major synthesizers. There is also a request page for people to ask for patches. Why don't you sign up and ask for some? Some are already up in different styles for the Kurzweil family and the Triton and Karma. I have a Triton and tomorrow I'll see what I can do, but it shouldn't be too hard. The Triton has nice analog sounding filters.

There's another Lead Sound very used by Kevin Moore in I&W.....

And It was from Roland JD 800 !

It's a present of the JD 800.....It's named something like "Liquid Guitar"

or similar.....but It's an amazing sound.......!!!!

I think that It'd be an interesting patch to have !!!!!!

Hi!
I tried to make this sound on my Gem WK1 (it's just an arranger keyboard.. not a synth).. the thing i can say is that is a mix of a Saw and a very smooth synbrass.. but about programming i don't know ;)
But it sounds quite similar, i really like it.. because i can't add distortion to sounds on my keyboard so as a lead is my favourite one ;)

That synth has really good analog emulation (DW-8000)

That's because it has analog filters

Try a real analog synth,I use the Alesis A6 Andromeda. You can easily create great warm fat leads in the A6.
