Ribbon question

Hi everybody!

I have a little question regarding the large ribbon on my K2500X. I find it a little difficult to get my fingers to slide quick and smooth on it.
On NDOBT9, Jordan says that his tech sprays it before every show to make it easier to use. Anyone knows, what he sprays it with?

I haven't tried spraying it with anything yet, 'cause I'm a little afraid to use something that might ruin it.

I know that we're quite a lot of Kurzweil owners here on the forum. What do you do to your ribbons?

I use silicon spray to make it more slippery. Spray it (not too much!!), then move your index back and forth a couple of times, wipe your hands and ribbon away! :lol:

I'm gonna try silicone spray :P
I've already tried Finger Ease spray and it works, it's ment for guitars.

(I think it's the stuff KevMo was spraying on JP's fretboard while he was recording the eBow part to Space Dye Vest from 'Live In Tokyo' video.)

I dont have a Kurz but woundlt graphite work? Not sure how well it would stay on, but its not a liquid so there is less potential for damage.

I doubt a powder would be better than a lubricant.

As for potential damage, care should be taken that you don't get anything in the switches. Using a cut out piece of cardboard as template would be good to prevent getting String Ease or silicone all over the place.

I don't think graphite would be a good choice, it would get everywhere except where you want and it conducts electricity. If that got on a PC board things could get ugly.

I've never tried that lubricant. Never really needed to.
Won't that cause a little bit of a problem staying on the
keys eventually?

hmmm, i know i need somthing too, my finger never runs as fast and smooth as jordns and it always pisses me off :twisted:
