View Full Version : my The Great Debate Unison
Yo People,
This is my first contribution to the Show Off topic. I've been working on the The Great Debate Unison lately. And I recorded this (without metronome :S). The middle part is a bit messy :P
I like to hear some feedback. I think I will post more stuff soon. Oh, and this was recorded using a Triton Extreme 88.
What do you think?
You can find it here (http://www.cmd.tech.nhl.nl/users/hofst105/audio/ffoxlead.mp3). Without any background music.
And here (http://www.cmd.tech.nhl.nl/users/hofst105/audio/thegreatdebatesolobyffox.mp3). With background music.
Enjoy! :D

I like the lead sound, but I would have liked to hear a backing with your playing. Perhaps put the real song on but fade it only into the left channel and yours in the right? Just a thought.

Good one, I'll try.

Thanks. :)
I tried to play along, the middle part is very hard with all those triplets, but I'm getting there. It's good learning material.

Thanks dude. Well, I owned a Korg Trinity and it had the famous Monster Lead. I created a new sound on the Extreme with exactly the same parameters as the Trinity's monster lead. The resulting sound was sounding almost the same as the Trinity's version. I was not very happy with it at first (I thought it sounded a bit thin), so I added some more thickness by layering a distorted guitar and an Oboe to it. In the end I tweaked with some of the filter settings. That's it! Very easy :P

Well, I've been playing for 10 years now, but I became a more serious and dedicated to the playing when I got to play in a band 5 years ago.

Well, after some more practising I just recorded this (http://www.cmd.tech.nhl.nl/users/hofst105/audio/thegreatdebatesolobyffox.mp3).
Check it out! I added some saw to the lead. I know there's no wah in the original lead but I liked to add some.
Hi!
Very good work with your playing and with your lead!
I think you are the right person to ask:
Can you tel me the settings you used to reproduce the Monster Lead? I'm trying to reproduce it on a Fantom, so I don't need specific details, just overall basics(waves, filters...).
Thanks a lot!

Thanks, here goes:
Waves: Saw and Pulse-33% (2 osc's)
Filter type: Low Pass Resonance. Frequency: 99
ADSR osc1: 0,99,99,5 (start level 0. attack level 99, same for break and sustain. release 5). Add an amount of 10 velocity and intensity to this filter.
ADSR osc2: 0,0,0,5 (start level 42. attack level 0, same for break, sustain and release).
Add a high-gain/wah effect, some delay and reverb.
Good luck.
