I'm thinking about getting a new keyboard and from what I've read this seems to best suited for me.

I don't need a workstation...I don't think I do anyway and I've got no experience with synthesisers so I don't want to get something like a motif or an extreme.

I'd just like some comments from someone who's played it, unfortunately there's no where for me to have a go. All the stores near me don't have a very extensive stock. I was also looking at the S90 but hear there's much to do with patch editing or whatever, I don't really know what I'm talking about. 8)

Yep, sounds like the XV-88 is right up your alley, especially given how wonderful the stock patches sound. I have one and happen to love it.

If you've got any MIDI files you'd like me to run through it so you can get an idea of how it sounds, just lemme know. Otherwise, the official XV-88 site (http://www.rolandus.com/products/details.asp?CatID=8&SubCatID=36&ProdID=XV-88) has some sound clips that pretty well represent the instrument.

Thanks for the input, I'm alright with the midi's, before I make my mind up I'll wanna play on it myself anyway, I'll just have to ask around other stores.

anyone else?? :?:
