i've voted #2 'cause I hear a korg-style sound. I don't know how to tell, but there are something in its timbre that suggest me a Korg.

See ya

I think it's the ol' good Kurz. :D

Keep 'em coming guys!!
I want to hear what you all think!

Dave, that's a good idea! When will you reveal the answer?

Umm... In a while, not right now though
Soon :)

Enigma™

Maybe posting reasons WHY you think it's one or the other might spark some interesting conversation too?
Hmmm.... I see a new idea coming up :)

I definitely hear the infamous korg feedback, but I think I also hear the new JR lead that you were working on as well so I will go ahead and say both! :)

Not only I'm freaking shaking because I think it's your Kurzweil doing that, but I also want the patch right now :)

Oh I see you want explanations so here's mine: I think I have made my ears on the Kurz so I sort of feel the kind of filters you used for that.

Whatever it is tho', it sounds great Dave, congrats

Alberto

Okay guys.
It was JUST the Kurzweil - I thought the strings might give it away, but the whole thing is my Kurzweil!
*based on Derek's version of the monster lead*

Alberto: You wanted the file?
You got it!

Dave, how did you end up emulating the feedback?

albertors
11-23-2003, 05:19 PM
Thanks Dave! Didn't want to sound rude but it worked :) I have it here on my laptop now.

Excellent work once again, this lead has an amazing body and I'll tell you more: I play on Trinity keyboards almost every day and I was starting to think that a certain type of nasty distortion wasn't able to be reproduced on a Kurzweil.

I humbly ask to forgive such a blasphemy :)

Anamnesy

WoW great work Dave :)

Enigma™
11-23-2003, 06:33 PM
Digilog: Dual Distorted *gain alg* Slightly detuned SINE :)
Alberto: Thanks dude! I didn't know you work with trinitys all the time or else I would have consulted you!
Anamnesy: One patch on the site, another in the mail ;)

Thanks guys!
What WOULD be a help is if someone could record a clip of the wah and the feedback, single note, maybe like 2 or 3 second durations on different spots on the keyboard, as well as monophonic settings *like if there's attack portamento, etc..* and maybe that will assist in getting this perfect. I know that there are things that can't be emulated, however there's nothing saying that we can't try!

If there is anyone that actually HAS a trinity, could help me out, I'd take anything I can get :)

We have a room in school equipped with SY99, Trinity and Clavinova. There are voices about an imminent upgrade to Tritons.

I suggest everyone to try the SY99, I love it..

Dave, I was there yesterday at night and the room was empty so I turned the room speakers set on and used one trinity to play a groove while playing on another one..there's a lead sound that has a certain monster lead smell, it's 58-C..the name is..not sure but something like buzz wah lead.

Maby Dave used the trinity without even knowing it :P! But, I have played the kurz k2500X without KDFX. In my memory inm sounded better than I what I heard here. Maby it's the speakers. Anyway, Alberto please post a small film of you super studio! :D And perhaps you can play something!

Nope, it was DEFINITELY my Kurzweil, without KDFX! I use it all the time for every musical thing I do... Granted the sound quality wasn't fantastic, however I did make the sound myself so that may have some contrabution to it as well...

Alberto, we want PICS and MP3's and ... MORE MORE MORE MORE!!! lol

Thank you guys for such a vibrant interest!

The room I was talking about is KIT-CL245, located at the first floor of Musicians Institute in L.A. I tried to find some pictures of it but I didn't find any, maybe I'll take some in this week if some chance pops up.

Talking about my small studio here, I have some pictures here and there, let me see if I can gather them all here. In these days I'm struggling with some paperwork that I have to compile to renew my domain name, so the site could temporarily be down from time to time: I'm sorry for these inconveniences.

About the mp3s, I'm sorry to have nothing new at the moment but if you want to check out my music, the best place is for sure the one and only www.albertorizzoschettino.com ;)

thank you again,
Alberto

Two of the pictures don't work for me, but the others are fine and your new home looks very nice! :)

Two questions:
1. Which will be your new domain?
2. CAN YOU SEND ME THAT DAMN GREAT DESKTOP WALLPAPER FROM THE FIRST PHOTO?????????????

I have tried it, but I've got my old desktop wallpaper again, because the symbols are hard to read...
How come you don't have ANY symbols on your desktop on that photo over there?

I use LiteStep (www.litestep.net) on my laptop computer Jan.

Keep it stored somewhere for other or later use if you want. Don't be worried about deleting it as you will be always able to get it again from that URL.

Thanks again,
Alberto

PS: My site should be back anytime soon, I solved the burocratic maze ;)

Looks interesting! Never heard of it before, though!

What does it exactly do?

Luca_Capozzi
11-26-2003, 07:26 AM
seems to be a Desktop Manager similar to NextStep. I think is an Explorer replacement and, surely, seems to be lighter than Explorer :)

See ya

Mhh, I think I won't download it until I don't exactly know what it is, because it looks strange :)
And the homepage isn't too good either, is it? I mean, hard to get behind it!

Luca_Capozzi

downloaded and installed. It looks nice. Is a desktop manager and doesn't substitute explorer, but give a better management. Nice themes are available, but some of them gives problems with a library.

See ya

Jan, here's what www.litestep.net reports:

"Welcome to the new and hopefully improved LiteStep.net. Many months, or should we say nearly a year, ago this site was the focal point of the LiteStep community. Now it's time to bring it back, back to you the user. You as a community member are what this site will thrive on yet again.

There have been a lot of changes. First of all there is a new, yet remotely familiar, look. As before you will find the theme archive, user screenshots, modules, links, but with some added features. We intentionally kept the navigation as simple as possible, but don't be fooled, there is a lot of interesting stuff to be found on this website!
For those of you picking up LiteStep for the first time you have yet to experience the power and flexibility that you can find in LiteStep. LiteStep was originally written years ago by lonerunnr as a AfterStep interface port for windows. It has since grown into the most powerfull shell still in active development.

As you can see from the screenshots on this page, LiteStep enables you change the look & feel of your desktop to whatever you want. Get an account today and help out to make this site to what it once was... and more. Join us and help in the effort! "

Luca is right, LiteStep is a shell replacement for regular windows explorer.exe. There are lots of themes available and some guidelines to follow if you want to avoid errors (basically just a theme check compatibility before installing it) but you can actually step back at any time if errors come (and nothing low-level to be worried about). It's more reliable and lighter than the regular windows interface.

If you are a geek sometimes it helps you avoid nausea and headache when you realize your mac is an ocean distant :)

Alberto

EDIT: It's a full replacement for explorer.exe, I mean you can remove it from memory without hassles..and believe me sometimes it's a fresh breath.

with my overclocked and damaged brain circuitry it took like 1 minute. Lots of you guys computer gurus can do way better :) it's really easy.

I've installed it and got the default theme first, but the "docs" are down, so I didn't know how to change the setup... I'll wait and install it again when I've got some spare time.

I agree Jan: be sure you take some time to read the documentation, it's way better to avoid any hassle.
